Questions, answered

A few of the things people ask us most. If your question isn't here, just reach out — we're happy to talk it through, no commitment required.

Yes. We see clients both in person and over a secure, web-based video platform. Telehealth makes it possible to work together from wherever you're most comfortable — your home, your office, anywhere private.

We have clinicians licensed in California and Colorado. We also see clients in some other countries that allow clinicians from other jurisdictions to serve their citizens — please check with your local regulatory board, or just ask us.

Our office is at 129 N Halcyon Rd, Ste B, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420, on California's Central Coast. In-person sessions are held here.

In general we do not work with insurance companies directly — we've found it introduces a third party into the therapeutic relationship whose goals often oppose how we work. Many clients use out-of-network benefits instead: we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Check with your insurance company about out-of-network coverage, the reimbursement percentage for outpatient mental health, and their claim guidelines. For assessments, you may need pre-authorization.

We accept cash, check, Zelle, and all major cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), and we can also charge FSA/HSA accounts. Session fees range from $175–$300 for licensed clinicians and $150–$200 for associates and psychological assistants. Our therapists try to maintain sliding-scale spots at different financial levels — these fill quickly, so please ask about availability.

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes, held weekly. Relationship and family sessions are typically 80 minutes, to give everyone room to be heard. Assessment sessions vary with the type of evaluation — we'll walk you through the plan up front.

Individual, family, and relationship therapy, practiced through several modalities — psychodynamic, humanistic, EMDR, the Trauma Resiliency Model, and Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy — all through a neurodiversity-affirmative lens. We also provide a full range of psychological assessment.
